Mucus, balloons and naked girls.

So the wee one has bronchitis. Pissy illnesses blowing my boy's good time. Birthday party is postponed til next week and we are left to battle over medicine for the next five days. The kid is S-T-U-B-B-O-R-N. Seriously. He has my genetics here. He will take no bribe, laughs at my threats. I found myself lying to him in more than a Martha Stewart kind of way today. For real, I was lying my ass off. I was O.J.

Me: Hey baby, want some chocolate milk?
Him (taking the cup): Is der medicine in it?
Me: No? (Looking surprised). It's chocolate.
Him (after the first teeny-tiny sip) It's yucky mama.
Me: Yucky?
Him: Is der medicine in it?
Me: No. (Looking even more shocked) You don't like it?
Him: No. It's yucky.
Me: (pretending to drink it) Mmmm, tastes good to me.
Him: (literally rolling his eyes). No thanks mama.
Me: You sure? Yummy chocolate milk.
Him: (Staring at me without blinking) It's yucky Mama, no thanks.

So I proceed to add more chocolate and milk to the medicine and we act out this whole scene one more time. Whether he can taste it or not he knows there's medicine in it and there is no freakin way he's going to drink it. And there lies the next four days for me. Lying and arguing and lots of wasted chocolate milk.

In regards to my last post I have received a couple of comments and several emails from friends and strangers alike encouraging me to post nudey pictures of myself. As tempting as that is, I'll have to think it over. Maybe I'll just link to the fabulous Charr for fun. Speaking of, I've been thinking about promoting my fabulous, gorgeous, brilliant group of girlfriends too. We all happen to be creative geniuses and all kidding aside, I am so happy and proud to be friends with such clever women. Since I've already mentioned Charr, I'll talk a bit more about her. She has her great blog about her amazing photographic life in Sacramento,Eye Street Chronicles. In addition to her project Moonlighting, a labor of love documenting the array of musicians she meets and their 'day' jobs. Finally, Charr has a blog with our lovely writer friend Debbie called Artists At Large, a photo and text essay of local artists. Anyway, check out her stuff - it's amazing and in addition to being insanely talented, the girl works her ass off!

Side note: Today was Grandma Ellie's 91st birthday. Happy Birthday Gram.

Random P.S. Cai has decided he has the 'shaw-pest teef in da world'. He's in the livingroom arguing with his dad about who's are sharper. Seriously, he will make you feel them - I have three times today - and I must admit, they are pretty damn sharp.
