Back in the saddle

I'm feeling a bit gun shy cause my blog died a couple of weeks ago. Vainly, I tried to add sitemeter and something went wrong causing my blog to fall into the depths of the internet. As you can see, we are back up. However, I'm feeling nervous about the impermanence of things. Will this site be here in 100 years? Ok, my mind is blowing already so I'll move on. Just returned from a week at our cabin. Been there a lot recently and I'm finding myself drawn more and more to a life in the country. It's so good for the kids. This weekend a couple aunties and cousins joined us and it was one big love fest for Solomon. Mordecai has dubbed him Chocolate, so that seems to be his new nickname. He is smiling all the time and squirming around in ecstasy it seems. I'm doing that silly baffled parent thing, amazed that I can love my second child as much as I love my first. But the love just comes, folding in on itself, waves and swirls and crushing blows in the middle of a Tuesday morning pretend tea party. This morning while I was wiping Cai's bum and he rested his head on my knees he stared at my feet and said - "Mama, your toes are beautiful and purple and so sparkly." Now he is asking if when I'm done with the 'compuda' I can make pretend muffins for him. And I'm off.
