Walking the Walk
Finally a couple of weeks ago Solomon got up and walked. As I suspected, he’d been putting it off. It wasn’t just four or five steps. He stood up and walked around the room three or four times and hasn’t stoped. He’s quite proud of himself and his brother also is impressed. About fifty times he’s said, “Mama, look at Choco! Can you beweave it? He’s walking so good.”
We had a wonderful weekend. Choco’s first birthday party was Saturday and the day was just gorgeous. Once again we did the bounce house, which all our fabulous friends and family love since it’s weighted for adults too. We whiled away the afternoon and then Sunday went to a carnival and later a pool party and bbq. It was the perfect spring/summer weekend. I am hoping for many more this year. I’ll post photos soon. Charr took a ton of gorgeous ones at the bday party.
My boys are doing really well right now. I’ve been working really hard to take my time with everything and the difference shows. We are all more peaceful, loving. Mordecai has been so incredible lately. He is such a sweet, loving little thing. Of course I know he’s growing up. Last week at the water park a big kid, probably 6 or 7 stole his car and wouldn’t give it back. He came to tell me and I trailed him back to the kid coaching him on what to say. “Hey boy, dat car is mine. Give it back.” He said this three or four times because the kid was walking to avoid him and Cai had to run to keep up with him. He finally cut him off and in his three year-old way confronted him. Luckily the kid saw me in his peripheral vision and handed the car over. I was made of pride, I admit it. I love being the mother of boys.
