The Mermaid Cafe
Recently I've been obsessed with the idea of opening a cafe. This weekend we drove through the foothills, Loomis, Penryn, Grass Valley, Nevada City. So many gorgeous old homes and amazing little towns. I swear, if past lives exist I was definitely some farm woman because my chest just aches when I see anything over 100 years old. Anyway, now I'm obsessing about living in a victorian in one of these gorgeous little towns and opening my own cafe. It will have a play area for kids so moms like me can catch a brake. I'd make both my grandmother's best recipes and bagels with pesto and fresh sliced turkey breast. I'd grow my own vegetables and cut flowers and buy a new flock of Aracaunas to lay the most perfect blue eggs, like we used to have here at Bluehaven all the time.
Speaking of, does anyone else still think that Joni Mitchell's Blue is the perfect album? Cause it is. Especially driving in spring. Listen to California and you will remember what I mean.
Lo is screaming for me right now. Yesterday a sweet old woman with a pale blue beret and a Russian accent complimented him, "Your eyes are so dark they are almost black, like night."
